Jeff's Notes 9-1-10

This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: "Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my message." So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. (Jeremiah 18: 1-4)

This week I was driving by a local Taco Bell that had a huge banner outside. The banner read, “Closed for a supreme makeover.” I figured, oh…new tile, paint, perhaps a new parking lot.  Imagine my surprise when a few days later I saw the wrecking ball tearing the building down to the ground.  Wow I thought, now this is a makeover!

In our Christian walk, God often desires to do “supreme makeovers” in our lives. In our minds, we think oh these are probably just little changes that God wants, yet instead God has greater things in store for us if we are willing.

I am sure when the new Taco Bell is rebuilt it will be a beautiful facility as far as fast food places go; however, imagine what our lives could be like if we opened ourselves up to God’s “supreme makeover.”

Enjoy your week!
Jeff
